| 英文描述 | Inability to fully close the lids when sleeping or blinking is common in many brachycephalic breeds, including the Pekingese, Boston Terrier, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, and Pug. It is a feature selected for in some breeds such as the St. Bernard, bloodhound, and Clumber spaniel (Bedford). This conformation of the eye can lead to keratitis and ulceration. Can also be secondary to anesthesia, buphthalmia of various causes, paralysis of the 7th cranial nerve, and exophthalmos due to neoplasia, hemorrhage, edema, or trauma. Dx by signs. Congenital form may be due to lack of part of the eyelid (coloboma) or to congenital hydrophthalmia. |
